CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - FAQ

Why do I have to have a DUPR account?

Fairness in Matchmaking: By providing an accurate measure of skill, DUPR ensures that players are matched against opponents of comparable ability, leading to more competitive and enjoyable games.
Global Benchmarking: As pickleball grows internationally, DUPR provides a global benchmark for player skill, essential for international competitions.
Learn More About DUPR

If I don’t use DUPR, what category shall I put myself in for the tournament?

Our tournaments are still using the traditional 3.0, 3.5, 4.0+ and OPEN much like our other tournaments.

Why are you using the Swish platform rather than Pickleball Brackets?

The Swish app automates tournaments, including matchups, court assignments, scoring, and allows DUPR integration. Scores are entered by players on their smartphone (Swish App) and verified by the opponents. This updates the system immediately. You will then be notified which court you will be playing on next and against whom (once your opponents have finished their game). Trained volunteers will be available at each court to assist you.

Why don’t you have age and skill categories for Singles play?

We do not have the capacity to add all singles categories. We are working with all stakeholders to ensure that future pickleball facilities will be able to accommodate a more robust schedule.
